Values & Vision

Core Values

Our Community Vision

We come together as one for the regenesis of all elements of ourselves and Earth in a thriving, vibrant and diverse permaculture community.

Community Mission

Our mission is to be a holistic intentional permaculture community, nurturing each other’s highest potential,

  • exploring possibilities of living in ways that are culturally, socially, environmentally and economically sustaining, and
  • sharing and engaging with the world.

Community Commitments

Our Grass Roots Community Commitments set out some fundamental values that we, as members, seek to live out and develop. Of course none of us is perfect and whilst we may often fall short we also seek to continue to grow in these commitments. These commitments help Bellbunya to function effectively, to grow and are also healthy to apply in our broader lives. Each community member signs these commitments on joining.

  1. I commit to:Personal responsibility and integrity – speaking openly from my truth with courage and compassion, risking vulnerability and honestly sharing what is alive in me (feelings, needs, ideas, intuitions), and being open to being challenged
  2. Creating a safe space – listening deeply, respecting others and their differences, encouraging self expression
  3. Proactively building relationships. Including regular, intentional community glue processes.
  4. Being present and connected with myself and others, staying with challenging discussions with a solution based focus. Connect with what is alive in the moment and with the divine spirit in all. Developing tolerance. Create space and time to reflect.
  5. Doing my best to learn and grow, whilst also embracing the imperfections in myself and others.
  6. Creating and joining in opportunities for fun, joy and celebrating diversity
  7. Shared leadership and making decisions with the wellbeing of all in mind (self, community, environment, society, planet)
  8. Bringing issues/conflicts into the open (with the people concerned) and working towards reconnection, understanding and resolution as soon as possible.
  9. Being open to receiving the support and guidance offered by others, and participating in processes initiated by the People and Process Circle, particularly at times when I am emotionally “stuck” or in an unresolved conflict with another.
  10. Seeking solutions for problems that I present.
  11. Acknowledging and valuing others – supporting them to reach their full potential and to live these community commitments.
  12. Learning about and practicing Permaculture principles and farming
